FAQ

How do you teach people to be creative?

I don’t! The course is not about teaching you to be creative but teaching you to allow yourself to be creative. Note no crafts or creative things are done in the session  – the sessions are structured around taking away the blocks to your creativity so you in your own time can be creative in whatever way you want.

Who can it help?

It can help people who are willing to be creative. Those people who have been creative in the past but become blocked. It also helps people who just want to practice the art of creative living.

What are the teaching methods?

In each session there are a number of activities undertaken which gently free participants from fear of creativity, The exercises are based on learning through fun, play and discussion. This is a hands on practical approach in that participants are asked to ‘do’ not ‘believe.

What is the time commitment?

A part from the sessions there is a daily exercise which takes twenty minutes plus 1-2 hours during the week.

Who does it work for?

I’ve guided hundreds of people though this process and seen creative miracles occur with this method and a supportive group.

What is the aim of the course?

To free each participant to be as creative as they want in their chosen medium and to create an ongoing creativity cluster.

What is the format of the course?

Twelve sessions 6.30-8.30 pm Starting 16th January – 2nd April 2020.  Materials are included. Please bring pen and paper to each session.

I’m a bit nervous and worried about doing the course?

I would suggest coming to the first session £25 – if you don’t enjoy it or my facilitating style – you are not committed but can use the tools on your own.

I can’t make all the sessions ! Can I still do the course?

Yes! As long as you attend the majority of the sessions – it isn’t necessary to do the course ‘perfectly’ to work. If you know you are going to be away I give tips on keeping your hand in so the process keeps on unfolding. Attending the first session is essential. If for any reason you would like to attend the course but cannot do the first one contact me and I’ll arrange a one to one session to make sure you have a handle of the most crucial of the tools to start you off. This would take 30- 40 mins to get you up to speed.

What is the course based on?

It is based on the book  The Artist’s Way  by Julia Cameron , published by Pan Macmillan at £14.99. Having access to a copy is essential during the course.
